The Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest is located in Woodstock and Thornton, New Hampshire, immediately to the west of Route 3 and Interstate 93 (between Plymouth and Lincoln):
Directions to the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, Woodstock & West Thornton, New Hampshire
From Boston, MA / Manchester/Concord, NH areas (and other points south on I-93):
Proceed to I-93 and follow to the north (toll road). Take Exit #30. Turn RIGHT at the bottom of the ramp onto Route 3 South. Follow Route 3 about 2 miles to Mirror Lake Road on right (at Lily Pad Café). Turn RIGHT onto Mirror Lake Road. There is a small brown sign for Hubbard Brook here.
Thence,
To Pleasant View Farmhouse (research laboratories and residence):
Take first right off Mirror Lake Road onto Dobson Hill Road and follow to end where
there is a white farmhouse and garage. Parking in front or back of garage. Some of the tours begin here.
To Mirror Lake Campus:
Follow Mirror Lake Rd about 8/10 mile, past public beach sign on right. Watch for road sign “Hamlet Drive.” Turn right here, and follow about 100 yards to cottages.
To the Robert S. Pierce Laboratory at the U.S. Forest Service:
Follow Mirror Lake Road (go under I-93 and past Mirror Lake beach on right) to the end where you will see the red Robert.S. Pierce Building. Parking plentiful at the top of the hill behind the building.
To the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation administrative offices in Hanover, NH (this is NOT the forest):
From south on I-89: Proceed on I-89 North to Exit 18 (Lebanon, Dartmouth College). Bear right at end of ramp. Go through 4 sets of stop lights. At 4th light you will see Jesse’s Restaurant on right, gas station/mini-mart on left. Proceed through this 4th light, then take first left onto Buck Road (about 100 yards past light). Go down Buck Road to bottom of the hill where the road turns at 90-degrees to the left. 16 Buck Road is the first house on the left after this curve (yellow cape).
